March Highlight Child of the Month:
Paola is one of the most amazing and loving children we have here at Casa de Mi Padre. It is almost a misnomer to call her a child because she is almost 18 years old now. In fact, she will be joining our transitional ministry at the end f this month, which is hy we decided to highlight her this month since she will be beginning the process of transitioning out of the home here in a few weeks.
Paola came to us along with her sisters Rocsana and Fermina and her brother David in March of 2013 when she was 14 years old. Paola's dad died when she was 6 years old. Her mother would live with whoever she could in order to support her family. In the process men would come and live in the home. Instead of these men assuming the role of loving father and daddy for her, the men became abusive in various ways and in varying degrees. Her and her siblings were finally and permanently removed from the home because of the abuse and placed in the care of Papa Shane and Casa de Mi Padre.
Paola is a child who loves without condition and hesitation. The light of Christ shines through her eyes when she smiles and it is evident for all to see that she loves Jesus and loves being at Casa de Mi Padre. She is one of the happiest and fun-loving kids we have in our home.
At this time, Paola is now attending trade school here in Quiche and is learning the art of cooking and baking. She is also enrolled and is attending a high school equivalency school and is working towards getting her high school diploma. By the first of April she will be living in the home of Stan and Denise Nelson and participating in the transitional ministry in their home. Pray for Paola as she continues to mature into a beautiful young lady and that she will stay close to the Lord in all the she does in her life.
